Down the same path?

This was A&B Sounds (remember them?) Burnaby store. NOOD (New Object of Desire) took over soon after A&B Sounds went out of business. Now does this sign mean NOOD is following A&B Sounds' footstep?

A new enemy?

From the looks of it Falun Gong people had made themselves an enemy with a member of the Western press by doing what many had termed double standard or censoring articles that Falun Gong disagree with. For more information go to Asian Pacific Post's website.

Didn't win

I always wonder is it better for Tim Horton's to give out more small prizes such as a donut, cookie and bagel than a Please play again.

No excuse

Is it because of Spring Break? Whatever the reason there is no excuse for this. Or they do it at home also?

Missed the boat?

I/m afraid the developers of these two condos had missed the boat and may end up holding the bag during the current real estate market downturn.

Best before...

There were times when milk turned bad days before the "best before date". Always wondered why. Then one day in a supermarket I saw an employee returned some dairy product to the display fridge. At that moment I realized only God knows how long a liter of milk being sitting by the cashier because a customer at the last moment decided against it.

Not the way to do business

These were by the front entrance to the Pacific Press' downtown building. Went there recently to pay my Vancouver Sun subscription. On some days during the December heavy and lengthy snowfall the paper never showed up. On my first call I spoke to a live person and was given credit for the two missing days. On subsequent calls a recording came on saying all customers will receive credits for the missed days. I counted a total of 4, excluding the 2 i was credited, missed deliveries.

Imagine my surprise when the bill came and the only credit was the first 2 days. I called the number on the bill and a Pacific Press employee checked their records and confirmed indeed there was an additional 4 days.

Sure I received my credits but I think onus should be on Pacific Press or CanWest, the parent company, to live up to the recorded message instead of adjusting their billings only when and if the customer complains. Certainly not the way to do business.

I didn't know that!

Hello Kitty?

This display at a Metrotown shop says Hello Kitty but...

I thought this is Hello Kitty. Is somebody trying to get away with royalty payment?

Guess what?

It snowed today! Actually, it snowed early in the morning then turned to rain. Second snow this month. Must be some kind of record.

Flowers

This year has been exceptional cold. For flowers in bloom one would have to go to a florist shop.

May need more than this

During the few years the force's image has taken hit after hit ranging from scandal within its high command to charges of cover ups. I think they need more than just a banner in their recruiting push.

March snow

Snow in March!? I say somebody has serious misread the map thinking this is the east coast. What's nwxt? Snow in August?

Why?

Never understand why people buy bottled water. Study after study had proven that the bottled stuff aren't better, at times worse, than tap water. Some bottlers even admitted they just fill their bottles with tap water.

New boxes

Pacific Press are in the process of replacing its street corner vending boxes. These new boxes seem more secure than the old ones. Time will tell. I remember the first generation vending boxes had no covers. There was nothing preventing people from stealing the papers. Papers then were a nickel on week days.

Weapon of destruction

To you and I this is a stapler but to the RCMP as we were told at the Braidwood inquiry this is a weapon of destruction. Four members of the force confronted Robert Dziekanski who was holding the stapler. Their fear of it was so great despite wearing body amour that Robert Dziekanski was tasered not once but five times within 31 seconds. Sadly Robert Dziekanski went into cardio arrest and died.

Even more sad was the fact that the officers' notes on the incident were far from being truthful. We wouldn't know any difference if not for an amateur video. Next time when an RCMP officer has to testify in court Canadians can't help but wonder about the reliability truthfulness of the testimony. Sad, very sad.

Here is the video that the RCMP didn't wanted to return to the owner who had to hired a lawyer and threaten legal action. We can see why the RCMP want to suppress it.
