She came aboard at either the Edmond or Royal Oak station. The cart wasn't full but all the seats were taken. She promptly put her metal carrying case down and sat on it. By the Joyce station couldn't resist pulling out my hand unit and snap this while standing right beside her.
The one big improvement of the new Skytrain carts is the displaying the destination on the train itself. The signs in the stations are so small that old folkies like me have a hard time reading it at a distance.
Caught the new addition to the Expo and Millennium Lines again the other day. It is less crowded and had a bit more time to take a photo of the exterior.
The Central Valley Greenway, a bicycle route linking Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminister, officially opened yesterday. These are photos of and from the overhead bridge on Sperling and Winston.
We know that on Sundays and holidays public transit starts its day at 7 AM. The Millennium Line doesn't have any train leaving its VCC Clark terminal until the first west bound train from the Lougheed Mall Station arrives. Consequently there is no east bound train until 7:30 or so. In the meantime east bound trains depart from Lougheed Mall Station on a regular basis. Translink has these empty trains waiting on the track between Production University Station and Lougheed Mall Station. My question is why not have earlier departures from the stations between VCC Clark and Lougheed Mall?
Me think the best way to check fare is to install turnstiles. Then riders can prepare for it. The current random method is a true pain in the your know what because it seems these checkers only show up during off-peak hours and do their dirty deed when a train is waiting. I think they take delight in causing people to miss and wait.
Very surprising how much the Lansdowne Skytrain station will intrude onto No 3 Rd. Guess Translink and the mall couldn't come to a satisfactory financial agreement. What a shame! Traffic on No 3 will not get any better.
All photos are taken with the HTC Touch. This all about cellphone photography. The only editing you'll see is cropping. None has been touched by Photoshop.
