A rodeo of a ride

A little while ago took the Broadway B-Line on a Saturday morning. Don't know whether it was the driver, the other drivers, sate of the week or a combination of the above. It was the most unpleasant ride in a long long time. The driver braked very abruptly and sent whoever were hanging on to poles hurdling towards the front of the bus. Surprising there was no injury.

Hmm... sure beats what happened to the 49 bus when I was on it several months ago. Not pretty.

What happened? Did it crashed?

A car was attempting to cross over to the right when the bus I was on was trying to head towards the bus stop on 49th and Alberta, and in the process, the car slammed into the right/driver side of the bus. For a small car smashing into a bus, the impact was large and a woman near the front of the bus fell head first onto the floor (she was holding onto one of the poles as the bus was crowded). She was all right and everyone else, but what a scary sight. The thud and all.

Any engineer will tell you it all depends on the speed and angle of the collision.
