Disposable society
We are really living in a disposable society when a brand new umbrella sells for less than $3. Years ago I remember paying almost 10x for a miniature telescopic umbrella. Sure it was a Kanpp.

Niche market
This is located in Aberdeen Centre. It certainly caters to a selective market. It wasn't busy at all on the day this was taken.

Service award
Didn't know they have such an award. Saw this in the Gilmore and Dawson location in Burnaby.

Is that ....
Yeah, that's what we had today, SNOW! This time of the year in Vancouver. Hard to believe.
On Victoria Drive
Was motoring along on Victoria Drive approaching 49th. This car came out of a side street and turned right onto Victoria. The "stop" sign wasn't even a consideration. The license plate says the vehicle belongs to a dealer. Notice one of the brake light isn't working. Will you buy a car from a dealer who can't maintain its fleet?
A rodeo of a ride
A little while ago took the Broadway B-Line on a Saturday morning. Don't know whether it was the driver, the other drivers, sate of the week or a combination of the above. It was the most unpleasant ride in a long long time. The driver braked very abruptly and sent whoever were hanging on to poles hurdling towards the front of the bus. Surprising there was no injury.

Canbie & Broadway
Need to come back here in a few months' time to see the station when it is completed.

Coming soon
Coming soon? All depends on what soon is. In today's housing market soon may mean a couple of years if not longer down the road.

Empty
Guess Bell puts working handsets inside their display case. Why else would this be empty during non-business hours?

Memory lane
Does anybody remember this record store in the Brentwood Mall? I don't. May be it is because by the late 1970s I had pretty well stopped buying LP's.

Not sure
Was strolling through the mall the other day and saw a couple of elderly ladies pointing at the floor. Looked down and saw this. Not sure whether it dropped out of somebody's shopping bag or what. Don't seemed to be new since there is no price tag.

Block out bullying
Metrotown has been promoting this with ads in Skytrain stations, banners all over the mall and their own display cases. On the other hand London Drug is doing the same thing except the day is February 25 not Metrotown's February 28. Now people how about getting your collective heads together next year?

Graffiti fighter
There is one of this at each and every intersection with traffic lights. They used to be painted grey and were hardly noticeable. The city in its fight against graffiti has taken to wrap them in colour mural paper which makes them very noticeable.

Business is slow
Was at this Richmond restaurant the other day for lunch. It is located in the city's restaurant row. This place wasn't busy. For the owner's sake hope we caught it on an off day.

A good deal
For C$1.39 plus applicable taxes you get a morning paper, coffee, and muffin. Mac has switched blend. Gone is the watery, weak brown water they used to pass off as coffee. The new stuff certainly is superior to a few chain restaurants. More than good enough to give Timmy and the big guy a run for their money. Had I mentioned that you get free refill also?

Chinese New Year parade
February 1 was a wet and cold day. The weather didn't seemed to dampen the spirits of the crowd along the parade route.
