What's wrong with...?

What's wrong with this picture? Look carefully... Need some help? Scroll down to the next photo...

That's right the banner in reverse. Hmmm... you think it is for the benefits of the customers inside the eatery? Never thought of that... possible.

Sushi house

It is an open secret that a large number of the city's Japanese restaurants are Chinese owned and operated. This alter leaves no doubt about this one.

California Sushi

Pass by this strip mall one morning and saw these boxes there. Being a noisy busy body I went over to have a closer look. They seemed to be seafood containers. Let's hope these containers were empty. Can't imagine seafood sitting out in the parking lot unattended over-night.

Sushi

Another sushi restaurant!? This one is a couple of stores from one of the busies McDonald's, right next door to a Dairy Queen and a cinnamon bun outlet. In addition a mini-donut shop and a pretzel place are within the vicinity. It'll be interesting to see how many people will opt for the more "healthy" alternative.

Sushi bar

Years ago, during the 50's and 60's, Japanese restaurants were pretty rare. In Vancouver for Japanese food one would've to head down to Japanese Town. In the early 1970's North America was introduced to the Japanese steak houses which started to appear in the city's downtown.

Slowly sushi restaurants appeared on the scene. To meet the needs of the increasing Japanese tourists, perhaps?

Sushi restaurants really took off when we became aware of and associated it with healthy eating. I don't know about other cities but in Vancouver there seems to be one on every block.

This particular sushi bar is inside the Superstore supermarket. Is it a sign of reaching the saturation point?
