These used to be all over the place. Has become very rare.

Modern day buildings don't have these anymore. They reminds me of the movie The West Side Story from the early 60's.


This is a strange looking set of stairs leading from the second floor. This apartment building is on a bit of a slope.

Stairs

Fewer and fewer people are taking the stairs. We much prefer the escalator as we move from one level to another. One morning at work the elevators weren't working. A large number had problem climbing the steps. Luckily my office was at the seventh floor only.
